As the rutting (breeding) season approaches the fallow deer in Epping Forest will be moving around more. This means more deer crossing the forest roads.
Sadly there are increased vehicle collisions at this time of the year resulting in higher than usual deer deaths and damage to vehicles. WACC are going to be raising awareness about the rut and hope that will help reduce some accidents which are often (not always) avoidable if people are conscious of the deer near to the roads and adjust their driving accordingly.
